start as a freelance and doing things for the local community. starting offering to do weddings and partys. start off doing them for free then once you start getting recognized start putting a price to your works use the money you get from that to set up your own studio and take photos of the things you want.

How much schooling do you have?

You need to put together a good book and then start approaching magazines and other publications.

You should go to school for it if you want to be awesome.

Take a college course first and get a diploma. They teach you that too.

Practice, practice, practice. You don’t have to go to school. Just shoot a lot put together a great portfolio. Start with small jobs, for free or cheap. Then take on bigger jobs as you get more experienced. Get really comefortable with your camera, learn how to REALLY use it in every way. Experiment.

I have been shooting as a hobby for 7 years, I am a head photographer at a studio now and never have had any classes until last winter, I took a graphic design class to broaden my skills.

Forget about celebs. If that’s what you’re doing this for, you’re going to be really dissapointed. Become a photographer because you love it, not because you love famous people.

    Hey-

There are several sites out there where you can sell your photos and get paid a commission when someone buys them or even downloads them. You can start building up a portfolio this way and then start your own studio.

    Good luck
